There are various Training Tools for use in your presentations and numerous opportunities for information and continuing education on disability-related issues through the ADA Audioconference Series, Webcourses, and a current Calendar of Events. ADA Audioconference Series

The ADA Audioconference Series utilizes a combination of teleconferencing and web-based technologies, including real-time captioning, to deliver cost-effective continuing education on regulations and trends under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Each ninety minute subject-specific program begins at 2:00 p.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST), including the opportunity for questions and answers. Supplemental materials are posted to the web prior to each program for preparation and later review.

Registration and payment of the fee for an audioconference is required at least 10 days prior to its date as listed in the Schedule of ADA Audioconference Series. The Series is a collaborative project of the Great Lakes, Mid-Atlantic, New England, Northeast, Southeast, Great Plains, Southwest, Rocky Mountain, Pacific and Northwest Region Disability and Business Technical Assistance Centers (DBTACs).

Who Should Participate in the Audioconferences?

Employers, Managers, Supervisors, Human Resource Professionals, Advocacy Organizations, Organizations that assist people with disabilities, i.e. Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services, Division of Blind Services, Vocational Rehabilitation, Job Coaches, Architects, Interior Designers, Landscape Architects, Civil Engineers and other Design Professionals, Education Professionals, Police Departments, Courthouse, Chamber of Commerce, Consumers with Disabilities and their families, Business Owners, Legal Professionals, ADA Coordinators, State Government Entities and Local Government Entities.

Real-time Captioning and Questions for the Audioconference

Each program is delivered via a telephone conference call and is also real-time captioned. In advance of the program, participants and site coordinators are encouraged to become familiar with how to use the real-time captioning technology. Technical assistance on the ADA Audioconference Series is available through the Great Lakes ADA and Accessible IT Center.
