The DBTAC: Southeast ADA Center developed and supported in our five-year funding cycle ending 2006 an Information Technology in Education Accessibility Initiative (2001-2006) to facilitate the widespread use of universal design and improve access to information technology across educational environments in the Southeast U.S. region. Materials are available online from conferences ( "Leadership Academy") that we offered where teams from Postsecondary institutions and K-12 schools had the opportunity to learn about and develop partnerships for accessible information technology (IT).
Goal of a Leadership Academy: To return a team of participants from an educational institution that can implement policies and procedures which will benefit all people, including those with disabilities, in accessing the information and instruction of the educational institution.
